There is still about 8.1 billion people among underdeveloped countries lacking access to energy. In Africa the sub-Sahara area is only powered up to 18%. Without energy in schools, children cannot learn effectively and resort to doing homework under candle light harming their sight and risking burns. Without energy in hospitals, proper and essential machinery and medicine cannot be used. Without proper cooking technology and energy in households, women and children remain cooking indoor using wood burning stoves developing respiratory illnesses. Without energy, Africa totals 4.3 million premature deaths a year. The UN aims to power all of Africa by 2030. Illuminating a path for Africa.

Harpy
I intended to represent the Greek mythical creature, Harpy, in different ways by focusing on her most recognizable traits. Harpy is half woman half monster bird who avenged evildoers. The harpy would snatch the culprits with her talons and carry them out to their death.
